So with some spare time on my hands during the holidays I decided to dyno my recently acquired 2008 335i and document the gains as I add mods back from my old 335 + some new goodies. Have been waiting quite a while as had to send the Procede back to the states , unfortunately it was VIN locked to my previous vehicle. However I decided to rather upgrade to the REV3 unit which allows more adjustment in terms of fuelling, what a difference!
Also ordered some Forge DV’s and the Vishnu water meths kit. Haven’t managed to get the meths kit going yet as all the methanol suppliers I tried were already closed for the festive season
.
The results were as follows:
Stock (95 pump) –
196.7 wkw & 413 Nm
±231.4 kW & 485 Nm @ flywheel (assuming 15% a drive train loss)
Procede V5 REV3 Software (conservative map 95 pump) + ETS intercooler + Forge DV’s + BMC flat panel air filter –
233.7 wkw & 551 Nm
±274.9 kW & 648 Nm @ flywheel (assuming 15% a drive train loss)
Procede V5 REV3 Software (with NF Ultra OB) + ETS intercooler + Forge DV’s + AR Design DP’s + BMC flat panel air filter –
260.6 wkw & 606 Nm
±306.6 kW & 713 Nm @ flywheel (assuming 15% a drive train loss)
How’s the torque curve of these new Procede REV3 maps, hey!
All runs were conducted at the reef and include relevant correction factors (JHB summer temps have been in the 30’s)
As stated above I haven’t yet installed the WM kit so I’m sure there still a lot more to go, this was also my first take with these maps and I’m confident I’ll be able to fine tune more power in the higher RPM’s.
The new fully adjustable Procede user interface allows detailed changes to map settings in terms of boost, timing and fuelling across the RPM range, hence I was able to taper boost more in the higher RPM’s (compared to the US maps) so that the turbo's dont work too hard in JHB altitude. I’ll post another dyno once I’m running the WM kit
For those who are interested I’ve also included a data log showing boost, timing, AFR’s, IAT etc.
