335i (brake?) squeal

I've noticed a loud squeal coming from the passenger side even when the car is stationary. It's happened twice in the past 2 weeks so not exactly easy to reproduce. Any idea what it could be?

when totally stationary ?
then it cannot be brakes

if it happens even if at just "inching" forward speed, then it could be a certain make of brake pads (not necessarily inferior quailty pads) , it could be slightly glazed disks

a solution without replacing pads, and/or replacing or skimming the disks, is to place some "COPPERSLIP" paste ( a thin layer) on the piston contact point with the pads...(not on the disks)

Yeah I'm also wondering how brakes squeal when the car is stationary, do you perhaps mean when coming to a halt and almost stationary?

If the above, then I would recommend just doing a bed in procedure before replacing anything, sometimes the pads just get a bit glazed from braking like a granny.

I agree Ralf, can't be the brakes. It started immediately when I drove off and continued when I was completely stationary. It only went away when I accelerated hard.

Before I forget; brakes were replaced last week. The squeal started 2 weeks ago. If I can just reproduce it then BMW will sort it out.

Occurs when car is moving at low speeds and when it's completely stationary. Weird I know.

Maybe just visually inspect the belts for any damage and/or wear and see if any of the pulleys have play in them.

Hi.
Got the same on my vehicle. But only at low speeds and coming to a halt. Bmw replaced discs and pads, went away and returned after a wile. It's wen u don't use the car often and the brake dust build up forms a layer between disc and pad. Also not sure wot to use

I had the same squeel at low speed in parking lots. I had my callipers serviced and hasn't happened in 20k kms
