335 single turbo conversion

Hey guys toying with the idea of converting my stock 08 335i to a big single turbo conversion, iv been researching and came across FFTEC that have successfully done the conversion and it seems to be reliable. Opting to source the kit from them but they claim they never did one on a RHD and let alone quite pricey, i might not have the support from them to complete with no issues. I already got a Precision 6768 turbo and the big front mount cooler, will require a exhaust manifold/downpipe/tuning solution. You guys have any one that suitable to assist me with this job? Input appreciated:thumbs:

Leon from FR&R is currently busy with his big single n54 conversion, maybe call him and enquire from him?

Jb4 supports big single tuning....

I did contact him but not releasing much info and is currently having some minor teething issues.

Guys at RC performance will make up a good manifold install the cooler as do boost pipes and down pipes at a very good price

as stated on FFTEC website, claim they require a 3port boost solenoid and a different map sensor, and certain ways to connect the wastegate. Thats the bits that bothers me, building a exhaust mani and boost pipes is not to difficult

Give Marias from Full Boost a shout for the plumbing.

Guys, what would be the optimal size turbo assuming the HP target is 550 to 650whp? Make, Housing size, wheel size etc.

A precision 6262 or garret GT35 equivalent with housing between .68 to .82, will get you there.

Do you plan on strengthening the internals of the motor as well ?

These motors seem very fragile when boosted over 22psi ? Im struggling to imagine if the N45 can handle the Precision 6768 on stock internals.

Some of the N54 internal are forged already.

Should that not be strong already?

Considering they breaking at over 480Hp at the wheels i would personally upgrade the rods and bolts for peace of mind ( if you dont have motorplan :=): )

remember it may be forge etc but it is a high compression motor and to much boost on a high compression motor will make it unreliable
