335 N55 not starting “clicking” sound

Hi guys, so on Tuesday morning my car started fine, drove somewhere, parked the car, came back to the car after 5min, inserted the key, everything came on as per usual, pressed the start button and I got a “clicking” sound, I tried again, got the same “clicking” sound. I have checked the battery, voltage is over 12v, so I’m starting to wonder what the issue could be, the car is showing no errors

1. Make sure the wire points at the battery is tight.
2. Check the power wire point voltage in the engine bay.
3. Worse case you have a starter problem if the battery is fine.

I agree, mine had a similar issue, turned out one of the cells on the batters was dead. needed a new battery.

Did you try jump starting it before buying a new battery?

I had something similar, ended up being a loose battery terminal connection.

Good luck man!

Starter. My Brother FN2 type R did exactly the same thing

Starter was reconditioned and issue sorted

action list
1) attempt to get a jump start from a similar sized car (size battery)
if it starts, then your battery is gone
2) If it still doesn't start, then look out for loose connections , near the battery
terminal, and near the starter.
3) If you know what you are doing, you can jump the starter directly,
bypassing the ignition circuit, by applying power direct to the + and -
terminals on the starter motor, essentially what you are looking for is for the
starter motor to at least turn the engine over
4) If it starts by applying power direct to the starter, then the fault lies in the
ignition circuit (ignition button etc)
5) If it still refuses to turn over when power is applied directly at the starter,
then the starter motor is faulty

Could be your main ground cable.. mine crapped out car wouldn't start and it wasn't charging correctly because of that. Car was also throwing 2e98 code all the time and I always had increased battery discharge on start up overnight.

The electrician put a new ground and now it charges much stronger at 13.8v before it was charging at 12.8 to 13.05 at times. And I longer have the 2e98 code

My car also wouldn't start at times needed to use jumpers to start it at times
