330i steptronic - behaving strangely mmm

I was driving down the highway I heard a thump coming from my gearbox – I see a exclamation mark on my display and a O instead of a D ( showing which gear im in)

I only have one drive gear could be 4th or 3rd not sure – manual mode also not working

I switched the car off turned it on and it was back to normal

My battery light also started flickering – went to the mechanic he said its my Voltage resistor and the car is not getting enough electric power – I had it replaced and a few days later the gears thing happened again – no battery light this time though

I turned the car off and restarted it – and its back to normal – Im completely lost – the car has about 112000km with a FSH

Im lost – any advic:banghead:

I have a warranty - The problem is that its intemitent (the problem) - NOT COOL !!
I take it to the mechi and its fine - then it happens when i least expect it :hammerhead:

We had a similar problem on our E46 318i auto.. kept having intermiottent gearbox error & going into limp mode.. after 4 times going to the dealer & them just resetting the software they eventually found the MAF faulty which they said was causing the gearbox error

but I also think its a battery issue have it tested under load.

However, yea, replace the batter. I bet you it your going to put that car on diagnostics your going to have a ton of undervoltage warnings all over the place.

Found the fault I think . I replaced the Final Resistor - seems to have sorted the problem . Bought a new Battery just in case as well - Next on the list Shocks front and rear - what can I expect to pay? Is it normal for those parts to be worn out at +|-112000km ? :dunno:

I am also thinking of replacing the gearbox oil - Heard a rumour you can only buy in in 25L :bawling:my car seems to be a bit slow as well - I have a 97 Honda VTEC as well it pushes out 135 kw (cams,chip ,competion clutch vernier gears)1600 motor and murders the BMW 1st - 3rd/4th gear - that cant be normal ..... can it? :thinking:
