330d to a 540i

I currently have a 2016 330d ppk with 105000km but I have option to get a nicely spect 2017 540i with 33000km on clock.

I drove the car and it pulls. 330d does not have the legs and pull this 540i has. Decisions. What is the opinions or votes on the 2.

There is a slightly cheaper one, with lower mileage, at Auto Alpina.

Anyway, I would take the 540i - it is new technology, lower mileage and priced at the same level as a heavily optioned new 320i.

If you can comfortably afford it and the increased fuel consumption is not going to bother you, definitely go for the 540i bud!

It is a way better car and balance of plan for another 2 years with the option to extend definitely makes more sense.

540i is a no brainer to me. I don't care about fuel consumption though LOL.

Neither - I'd rather opt for a newer M340i, if you want an upgrade from a 330d. But that's just my opinion.

This 640d seems to be in the same ballpark as the 540i, price wise, granted it is based on an older platform. But that 40d is a real monster...

Depends on what the car will be used for...

Day to day: 330d hands down.
Long trips and occasional day to day: 540i hands down.

IMO
I do feel that in few years time the 330d will hold value better than the 540i.

I drove the G30 540i at the launch in 2017 and I loved every bit of the car. The B58 moves that big car very well and the tech and build quality cannot be compared to that of the F30.

I generally don't like bigger cars than the 3 series,but I would without a doubt pick the 540i if I were in your position

The 5 series is a big step up over the 3series.
Build quality is much much better than the 3.
And as much as I love my 30d... that 40i is certainly an engineering masterpiece.

I'd go with the 5er if it were me.

Got bad news today. Did not pass quality check. Theres allot of hidden damage like buckled wheels etc. Luckily have an honest dealer
