What diagnostic did you use? This problem is usually a cam position sensor or a fuel pump, usually the one under the passenger seat. Also check the pressure sensor on the fuel filter. What is your pressures when cranking?

I see you are from PMB, so I can't help you with a proper diagnostic. And I forgot you have a 330d, is it an e46? I am not sure if the inline fuelpump is also under the seat(on the outside of the car) like the E39.

doesnt it have a diesel pump on the motor be cause there is fuel coming to the front via the fuel pump in the tank

should there be high pressure at the fuel rail when swinging

Pressure at the fuel rail should be 200-300bar IIRC, but I'm not very sure of that one ATM

yep, rail pressure on that engine should be at least 300bar when cranking..

you need to tell us as much as possible about the conditions.. does it now not want to start at all, or not when hot, or not when cold ect.
it could even be your starter, diesel needs to crank at a certain rpm to fire when cold..

I had an intermittend "non-starting" problem on my 530d. would occur approx every third or forth day, with no specifics such as after a short drive or first start etc...totally unpredicatable..

surfed the web including BMW forums in Europe....common suggestion is firstly the cam-sensor.

R1500 cam sensor later replaced approx 2 months ago....startsw first time every time.
