[LOUDLY CRYING FACE]

Got no idea what the issue is,

Monday afternoon I pulled Away from the robot, hardly got ten metres, heard pop noise from engine bay, lost all power and the motor then cut out. Tried staring it up again. It took and started but for couple seconda then kept dying. This happened several times. Eventually saw smoke coming out the airbox, lifted the filter and smelt unburnt diesel so definitely flooding. Seems to be electronic fault but got no idea where to start looking. Kak part is motorplan expired in December. So stressed about costs too... Anyone got any ideas?

Let me know please. Checked fusebox in glove compartmemt too. Saw a fuse with letters RT on a purple colour was just dangling there. Fits into an awkward space on side of glove box. Needless to say vehicle had to be towed. Was not lukker. Any suggestions please gents.

Your best bet is to have a diagnostic done and check for error codes to pin point the problem.

When my friend had this pop sound in his 320d it was the turbo that packed up, shaft went of centre and shattered. Lucky the car also just pulled out of a stop so no high rev.

Hope someone can help you with this but I would first check the turbo and ensure that is fine, depends on how that pop sounded. http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=65619

Really wasn't a loud noise at all, nothing drastic just sounded like a pressure pop. I am certain the pop was what pushed the smoke out the air box. Definitely smelt of unburnt diesel too.

The lights on dash showed to be an electronic fault so who knows.

Just got feedback. Turns out it ia the turbo. Blown to pieces apparently. Said im looking @13k for the job with a refurb unit? Is that fair?

Maybe BMW is still prepared to do a goodwill on this, seeing as it's a few days out of plan. It won't hurt to find out.

Damn :thumbdo: so wished I barked up the wrong tree here.

Sorry to hear about this. Maybe do as Gert said, ask BMW to help with this

Another option is to have a look at the service history, if the car has had a turbo replaced within the last 2 years it will be under warranty with BMW... long shot but they will carry all the costs.

Please verify before your workshop starts stripping the car...

i wouldn't use a refurb unit as well...

They normally cover stuff like this up till 3 months after plan has expired

Thanks guys gonna see what they say and post feedback. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Speak to the DP.

Its really worth it to investigate. I got a free gearbox post motorplan, only paid of labour.
