500m

Did you do the work yourself or was it from a workshop ?

If from a workshop, U-TURN and give it back to them

welcome mate..

your question is a bit in the "how long is a piece of string" category..

we need more details, it could be any of a hundred things.. why was the head done, who did the work, what parts can you rule out, (injectors, hp pump, turbo, pistons, )

have you read the error codes, are the basics fault free?

I had an independent mechanic doing it at my home, so i lost confident in him after this fiasco

It was mixing coolant and oil, basically oil was milky, giving off black smoke and using a lot of coolant.Had the Head done by an independent mechanic, after tune up took it for a drive. thats when it started this fiasco. Turbo is still ok,hp pump still ok,injectors still ok.

This is a frikken mess

That consumption is not possible, not even close

your prob going to find that he screwed up your injectors, if that is the case, its prob burning a hole in your piston right now

Compression test dry and wet first thing to see if he actually put the motor together properly, which he more then likely has not

And that motor has very few sensors on it compared to the petrol, no fancy cam timing or anything,

On a petrol i would say he messed up the pre-post cat sensors, but not on a diesel, not like that.

i read 500m, is that right, impossible, simply impossible... 1/4 tank ?

If all that diesel is going into the cylinder, you are going to have very big problems soon, only way i see this is an injector stuck open, which means bottom end will fail very shortly.

My best advice, consider that the car is un-driveable have it towed to a proper mechanic, do a wet and dry compression test, then do a pressure test on the fuel rail, if an injector is stuck open, rail pressure will be far below what it should be.

Or, more then likely, budget 35k and get a motor from japan motors or something... cause, this is going to end in tears, mostly yours :(

Sorry bud.

Hallo And welcome

Firstly did you drain the oil and replaced the filter when you replaced the gasket ?
From the sound of things your head gasket is still a problem,
Secondly did you replace the headgasket because of overheating ? you had to skim your head before replacing the gasket. That could also be another reason.

Hi there

It was not overheating, it was mixing coolant and oil, giving black smoke
I took the head to be stripped, pressure tested, skimmed, replaced all valves and guides. Replaced oil and filter.

Thanks a lot,

will upload some pics l0l
