330d - down pipe and decat

Im thinking of doing down pipe and decat...

Please let me have your ideas or alternatives that can be done....

As much as some people insist that hollowing out a catalytic converter by smashing the ceramic structure to pieces and discard it then I can only say the downpipe is the better way as flow is concerned!

Yes its a bit more expensive but if you are concerned about your car and the tune up you are going to do, there is only one way which is replace the DPF or a CAT -if its a petrol car- with a downpipe!

No alternative there!

Remember that your software needs to be "adjusted" in order to tell your car that it hasn't got that feature anymore.
Else the ECU will be looking for it but gets false information and will throw up error codes :idea:

Can a person do the same software to a E46 330D as you do with the E90 330D and get similar gains/performance?
I know it wont be close to the E90 but is it worth it on a E46D?

Similar but not exactly the same and yes its worth it!

Intercooler is a MUST have as std intercooler is underdimensioned!

I did a decat and down pipe on my 330d recently and there were definate improvements to power and big improvements on fuel ecconomy. I went from 6.5 and above on the highway at a cruising speed of 120kph to around 4.3 - 5.2 l/100km

It also helps your turbo run cooler (They say 150 degrees celcius) but who knows.

Don't hollow out, just do the proper job it will work out better in the end and when you do software you will get better gains.
