so monday i needed to take off my rear wheel, (18'') and put on my spare wheel (16'') however, i thought i would have gotten the wheel back the same day so just put 3 bolts in and tightend by hand and lowered again. (car stood till today) SO this morning i just put in one more bolt and tightend it without jacking up again...(was in rush and late for meeting.) while driving the ASC light would intermittently go on and off. not alot but just a few times...
So tonyt i came home, jacked car up and loosened all the bolts and put all back in properly and lowered and did a final tighten. Took her for a quick drive and it went on and off once or twice...

Any idea what this could be? is it the 1x16'' with 3x18's?
or the possibility of not having put on the spare wheel properly?

The only thing that I can think of is the different size wheels turning at different speeds making the car think that is loosing traction hence the ASC light coming on.

hi bud its basically what they told you on my 325ci with 3x19'' rims and spare 1x 17'' rim it done the same so i drove it but turned traction off just incase not to damage anything further...as soon as i replaced the wheel turned traction on and it was perfect

Yep different size wheels.
But how lazy does one have to be to not put in all 5 bolts? I mean is that like an extra 25 seconds of your time?

lol calypso

it has to be the wheel size... get the 18" back on if the problem is still there (which i doubt) start looking at the wheel sensors...
