Hi Guy's
hope someone can help if possible i bought a 320i auto e90 from a dealer in sandton and on the day of test drive there was a noise on the car and i was assured it is the aircon fan and it will be replaced if i decide to buy so i went ahead and bought the car she is a beauty by the way very well looked after i live in limpopo so i went up on the friday to go and fetch the car and on driving back to nylstroom i could hear a distinct grinding metal type sound coming from the middle to rear of the vehicle and an oil smell on braking or quick acceleration i immedeately send the salesman a voice note to inform him of the burning oil smell and the grinding noise he said to bring back the car the monday so they can have it repaired, i took the car back 2 days later was told tappet cover gasket was replaced and oil leak is sorted and that car was going to a gearbox and diff specialist for the metal grinding noise and a week later the car is still at the dealer their excuse they can not pinpoint the metal grinding noise they recommend i take the car and if it breaks down they will fix it because then they will know what caused the noise, i told them i do not agree and asked them to take the car to the manufacturer for a diagnosis but am still waiting for a reply from them so the day i drove home i made 2 videos of the sound it is making so i was hoping someone have experienced this on their cars and could maybe give me an informed diagnosis of what they think could be making the noise because i don't want these guy's ripping out the diff or gearbox if it might just be a hangar bearing or something smaller.
hope someone can give me some advise will greatly appreciate it below is the videos i made
