Hi Guys

I have some questions regarding the power on this car, i know its only a 2l and i know its a fairly heavy car for the motor, but im sure my car has some power robbing issues

First off i got myself a bluetooth obdII and checked for error codes and i found that i have P2096 and p2098 errors which i believe are O2 sensors could this rob the car of power ??

Second i notice on tha diagnostic app that im only getting 89.8 % throttle even though my foot is through the floor so to speak

Thirdly also noticed through the app that the timing advance does not seem correct, when the car is cold it seems to pull better and the max timing advance sits at about 12 - 20 deg but as it warms up the timing when you floor it drops back to like 8 deg ........... this seems odd to me coz when you cruising on the highway its between 25 and 40 odd

a description of the sysmtoms are you accelerate slowly and all feels good and steady and then you floor it and it feels like at about 3000 to 4000 someone clicks up the handbrake a few clicks ....... then you back off slightly and it feels like it pulls better ....... its really got me stumped

could it be software issues ? o2 sensor issues causing the power reductions ? vanos ??

from what i can see its a n46 engine +- 120k on the clock and not sure if its valvetronic but it definetly has the 2 x vanos sensors on the front of the head

is there anyone that could shed light or point me in the right direction???

I was a combo of issues

1st my o2 sensors (2x of the 4) had failed so the ecu defaults settings
2nd my cat was partially blocked so i removed that
3rd the valvetronic setup was slighlty out (bought a alignment kit)

on that note i have a valvetronic setup kit for sale as i traded in the car and have no use for the kit anymore

after sorting that out the car was much better but its still not a quick car

Thanks for the info,
Yes its not an exciting car by any means, mine is just a daily transporter to get me to work and back.

I'm sure another factor for some power robbing is the lack of a replaceable fuel filter.
