So this weekend i decided to have a look under the bonnet to see if i can find a annoying rattle. i also though ill have a look at the MAF because its fuel consumption was really bad.
the consumption was hanging around 8km/l in town after resetting the average about a month ago and it wasn't always like this when my wife got it.
so as i was looking at the air filter i noticed the the pipe that goes from the air filter box to the intake was not fitted properly, in fact the clamp wasn't even tightened.
i went ahead and took of the air filter box and inspected the MAF and is was clean. then i put everything back together and made sure the pipe was fitted correctly and tightened.
i then reset the average and took a 15km drive through town and when i stopped at home the average was 9.8 km/l and i didn't try to drive economically. I will check the reading today also.
