320d vs 325i

Howzit Gents...
I need some opinions please. I am in the market now for a BMW, the question is which one....

I am looking at 2009 and newer LCI models. My question is
320d or 325i? I will try and get 330d or 330i, but if it was between these two, what will your choice be and why? I live on the highveld.

I had the same choice late last year. The the exhaust note on a 6 cyl bm is just awesome but the consumption on the 320d is even better. Totally differnt cars to drive. 325i is a screamer at high rpm while the 320d does not even know what high rpm is.

320d packs a good punch though.

I opted for the 320d and dont regret it for a second.

ul never regret the diesel, awesome car to drive, alota fun. Consumptions brilliant and ul love the turbo whistle. I am a petrol head and never thot id have a diesel...but i do..lol :idea:.....I do miss the scream of a petrol...

I have a 325i and had a 320d on loan last week... If the coupe came in a 2.0d i wouldnt hesitate to get it. that diesel is sooooo amazing. I was beyond impressed.

Pound for pound, the 320d has to be the best car BMW makes, IMHO.

I have never owned a diesel so I am bias at this point.

I have however test driven the 2.0d X3 and a 530d E60. The latter really surprised me.

a 320d stock runs with a 325i bar in the mid TO top of the speed range. But take the two and have them mapped the 320d will eat the 325i and still return very good consumption. Same thing we argue for the 330 d & i............different strokes for different folks

I must say that i haven't tried the D ...so i would lean to the 325i based on history...
