320d maintenance

Howzit guys.

Thought this would be a good place to start.

I finally got all my right parts for my planned maintenance for tomorrow. (Agents kept giving me the wrong parts as my car has a different engine than what's listed on their system as per the vin)

Anyways, im planning on doing the oil cooler gasket, seals around there, intake gasket, and all the boost seals tomorrow as well as a full service and coolant flush.

My question is, the new intake gasket just looks weird, I mean it has the swirl flaps as part of the gasket but the flaps are loose, I don't know if this is supposed to be like that or if it's a flop of some kind. Below is what seems to me as the right position.

But then the flaps can move side to side without much force, I can see air moving them side to side. Like this

Anyone that can tell me if this is ok or if I got a dud?

Thanks for reading.
:fencelook: Cheers all

Howzit guys. In case anyone is interested. The part is fine that's how it's supposed to be, but I am glad I did it, initially there was just some oil leaking out of the manifold, but when I got it stripped off I found one of the flaps were slowly wearing down just getting ready to fall into cylinder 4. The wings were gone so the flap was just spinning on the shaft.

Not the best pic but it's hard to capture. The flap was about 60% worn from running on the shaft.

Does seem like the original seal so 140000+- not bad I guess. But still. Wouldn't want that breaking off
