My 2006 320d is extremely heavy on fuel, please pm me a contact who will be able to diagnose and fix this, not simply replace and hope like bmw dealerships.

I'm in jhb btw

Have you tried Ross Duncan in Midrand? I've heard good things

I haven't tried anyone yet, I want a referral to someone who knows what's cutting when it comes to diesel engines

All those in favour of better fuel consumption, please raise you right foot...

Don, did you at least get a OBD2 reading? My guesses would be sensor related.

I have been driving gently and it's constantly at 14.5lt/100kms

Went to Peter and Alex today regarding my power steering that have up the ghost yesterday, turns out my vibration damper is completely finished and cracked all the way around.

Motorplan history shows it was replaced 22k kms ago!

Hey Don, hope all is going well over there!

That is crazy high consumption, most likely a failed sensor somewhere, but the trick is to find it rather than, as you say, do the normal BMW process of elimination replacements! That's very low mileage for a vibration damper to go! How long ago was it replaced? Worth a try to get them replace if it was within two years ago - is motorplan still active?

Either way, hope you get this sorted!
