Ok so here is the scenario,
Drove my baby for 115000 km with no issues at all,
Pulled into my gerage after work, when starting the next morning engine cranks but does not start, then on instrument cluster all hell brakes loose, transmission failure ebd dsc run flat cruise control etc. Got the on call out tried to jump with no luck said it had to be towed. Waited to later the afternoon started it again and it fired up first time with no issues and no errors non of the other errors. Got it scanned and printed out 2 pages of errors nothing interresting or related except for maybe the transmission failure or fuel pump. Now the guys tell me its rats that ate cables, what is distinct is that when the failed crank happens I put the key in and press the start button with no foot on the brake, you can hear the fuel pump running without stopping, if I redo this step several times untill the pump runs for a few seconds and then stops and I hear the krinklin noise from the bonnet she starts perfectly and all errors are gone. Replaced the battery and one faulty glow plug. But she is very sick and I need help??

Difficult to say considering the many miles on her. A trip to a dealer or a bmw specialist is the only option. They will have to diagnose each of the possible culprits. The turbos, fuel pump, glow plugs ( i would have replaced all of them), battery and the (key) itself. A print out of the error codes will not always say much when the car shuts down unexpectedly.
All the best with this one.

I know they would have probably checked when replacing your battery, but are you sure the terminals (if thats the right word) are connected properly?

I remember De@no here on the forum had a similar problem and it turned out to be a loose connection to the battery of some sort.
