320d e90 turbo not boosting

Hi guys need some help please
I was driving the wifes 320d on friday quite hard and I heard a popping sound from the engine bay then boost was lost drove about 10km to get home check the boost pipe was loose ans the ring missing so I put a normal clamp on and started it still now boost and I can't hear the turbo spool now, then disconnected the battery so ecu can reset over night but still no boost. Any idea what's wrong ???

You probably overspooled and blew the turbo?

Damn I was hoping it was not the Turbo there was no black smoke when I heard the sound and I could hear the turbo whistle but there was no boost after putting the pipe in with the clamp there was no whistle from the turbo?

I got my new one from Turbo Direct, they do repairs to but i have no idea what they would charge. My new one by the way was 12k

How many kms does your car have?

Mine the EGR pipe just split, and was losing boost. Check that out first!

Just take the covers out and inspect.

If you can hear the turbo still, sounds like just a boost leak.

Is this the pipe you reconnected?

No the pipe I connect was a plastic pipe
What is the EGR pipe for ?

EGR pipe connects to the EGR valve which is just for Emission control purposes. Recirculates exhaust gas, for combustion.

I would check that you have no leaks at all the pipes, especially the one you reconnected.

Thanks man don't remember seeing that EGR pipe unles that is on the other side of the turbo I called bmw got a price on the ring that seals the pipe I connected then will check for any other leaks
