Hi guys, I am planing on keeping my 320D for along time and want to prolong the mileage I get out of the motor....

Is it worth taking out the cat? and is it worth while just running a pipe with not boxes?

Its currently on 120 000km and its a 2011, I am also a rep and often drive to clients and need to get out the car soon other wise I run late. So thats another reason for getting rid of the restrictions in the exhausts as to make it cool quicker...

Yes EGR delete will be beneficial, also been discussed to death.

Proper driving technique is probably most important. Take the last 5 mins of the drive slow to cool down and the first 10 to warm the car up properly.

decat/dedpf yes, no boxes no.

Use the search function for more info.

No boxes? explain why.

I'm running 63mm pipe from the turbo straight to the rear box on my e90 320d and i am going to make it straight pipe now, whats your reason behind the no box's.

Because the benefit is so marginal and will only be realised with a map. The furthest I would go is removing the middle box. Back box gains are negligible.

And those are performance gains. The guy seems to just want the car to last longer. If he wanted performance we'd be talking about software etc.

The DP is only going to make the turbo last longer not the engine. Regular services would be the most beneficial. Every 10k kms oil and air filter change. If you want to save some cash fit a k&n and remove and clean it yourself.

Straight Pipe FTW! Diesels sound boring as it is. Liven it up and make it sound... "interesting"

Be warned it might not sound quite as nice as you expect. If you don't mind spending the $$$ then go for it.

Straight pipe is awesome, I had it on my Polo Sportline and it transformed the car in terms of driving enjoyment.
