318TI E46 Trouble starting

Hi friends, I have a 2005 318TI with 180 000 km. The car struggles to start after parking it at least 4hrs, it misfires with a bad smelling smoke. I took it to a dealership, diagnosed but couldnt find a problem except that they advised me to sell it. Its a worse advise I ever received. after numerous attempts it eventually starts, what could be a problem?

LMAO thats funny (the advise that is)

it could be a number of things, good luck with the fix,
ps check crank sensor and all the other mentioned things like coil packs, timing chain plugs and get the error codes that the dealer diagnosed.
that will give you an idea where the problem lies

thanx, will do as advised, funny is this problem has been for a while and in June it stopped only to re surface now.

Howzit man, you are not the first person I heard with this problem, and also not the first with the advise you were given, A buddy of mine also had one with the same problem, hopefully yours is not silver cause his was and he could not solve it so he just sold the car:banghead:
