279wkw at KAR: Well done George

Well done to George for pulling a 279wkw run at the GTi Dyno day on Sunday. We where very impressed when we saw the graph considering it was done in 33 degrees of heat with a dyno fan that is inferior to the one we use. What shocked us even more was when we heard that the hood was kept close. George has cone filters fitted which only work well on the dyno with a open hood.
The car averged 92wkw more than the other two stock N54's on the day.
We normally do not "visit" other dynos but its it was a perfect day to prove the cars capabilities in all conditions.

Pulled nice numbers there George:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sorry for being controversial again.
My gripe is with these old school dyno operators who believe they are the damn cats whiskers and know everything about cars/dynos and dyno readings and shit. Who in this day and age still dyno a car with the hood closed irrespective of the filter being used. I thought KAR was a professional outfit? These guys probably still believe that a dyno simulate real road conditions and that if you keep the damn hood closed you will get a near accurate reading of what the car will do on the road...what a load of old fashion dyno myths....You can have the biggest Windmill as a fan and it will never simulate or produce sufficient cooling then taking a trip to your nearest bottle store. The lights should have gone on @ 33 degrees...heloooo...I am sure they have never heard of the kickdown button on the 335 either and probably floored it completely. Was the car dynoed in 4th gear? Probably in 3rd gear to give those luminas the edge...I tell you, it is a risk leaving your car in the hands of these old socks. I am glad that Chip-logic "...normally do not "visit" other dynos..."....OB must stick to that philosphy, it will protect his customers cars. Okay i have more to say...but again well done George despite the odds against you.

Twinz I think you being a bit harsh. It was a dyno day so the cars where on and off quickly. No time for water etc which by the way we don't use neither on the dyno or track.
I am sure with the hood up there would have been lots more power as experience has shown but the good thing was there where stock cars 135's and 335's to use as a delta and the graphs is lovely. It actually looks like a boob its so smooth which shows the tune does not detonate even in the harshest conditions.
