I had a run against the outgoing Focus ST last night, I really thought it would be faster than the Z but it wasn't... We had a chat afterward and he said his car was stock, so there's a reference. Was still fairly close.
Andy, I took on a 350z on my way to work, but the guy wanted to do running starts as he didn't want to spin his car. We went from 30km/h in 2nd gear, up through 3rd gear, and then backed off. We ran a few times and every time it was dead even.
He told me he was running software as well, and then told me to keep up my car was running really well. I thanked him and went to work. :rollsmile:
I have taken on 330d's, and the other night I took on a 330i E46 as well, and manage to beat him pretty well, so yea, it would be interesting to see how my car does against some other fanatics. :thumb:

Petri, the 330d's are quick, and strong, and off the line up to about 100 they are ahead, but not by much, but from 3rd gear its all carrots. I am talking about the E90 330d here.
The few 330d E46's I've run into is like dead even 1st and half through 2nd gear, then I pass and stay well ahead.
Now once again it GREATLY depends on the driver. :rollsmile:

You haven't happened to run against a SLK350 by any chance?
The Nissan's are pretty slow off the line, their 1st and 2nd ratios are colossal. When I do rolling runs at 80-90kph I'm in 2nd gear :shocked: And then around 5500rpm. Red line at +- 7500rpm. This is the HR version so it's a little more pokey than your average 350z. It has less torque low down but more power up in the revs.
But by the sounds of it it should be very entertaining It also seems the faster the better the Z goes. It's enjoying the higher RPM for sure.
The E34 M5 is it's nemesis at top end though. going 4th to 5th that M5 is a DEMON! A re match would be very interesting...
