bought her at approx 185 000 in 2007

new tyres

new brakes

the odd brake light or main headlight globe....I think 3 to be accurate

new battery times 2...because I don't drive enough...7 km to work and then she sleeps there for a day or 3 before I get back, then 7 km home, so the battery takes big strain in the winter months.

Cam sensor replaced as a fault finding process to starting problems a year or two ago...sorted

3 service's ..ie oil change/filter change etc

otherwise I just get in and go...hassle free/trustworthy pleasurable driving....the way she has treated me, I think she will still be around at 333 333km's

My 2003 530d E39 auto is also on 222k km (or thereabouts) and runs like clockwork. Have decatted the car and disconnected the egr as well as removed the swirl flaps.

Have you removed the swirlies on yours as this is critical at any mileage above 100k km!!

What a pleasure to drive, especially on the open road. I get between 13 and 16,4km/l on the open road at the speed limit. What do you get?

Swirl flaps.....might have been done before I purchased her at 185k....I personally haven't done anything....how would I know ?

Consumption...as mentioned I drive 7km every 2nd or 3rd day, to work and 3 days later back home...99% town driving only....once a month or every two months I get out onto the open road to let her "breathe" a bit

open road consumption 8.0L/100km
work and back consumption 9.5L/100km
