2019 420d Manual batch

So I was rather surprised to come across a 2019 420d manual for sale at BMW Supertech and messaged one of my buds from BMW to ask how this rare spec came about. Well according to him it was a batch mistake by BMW with list prices of around 900k. Due to the mistake they sold the cars to the dealerships at half the price.

Upon searching the net came across these 3 in the same colour combo for sale at various dealerships....so the story does check out a bit.

I wonder how BMW managed to do something like that....I for one love my 320d Manual but the majority of buyers want auto. These will probably be for sale for a while even at half the price. They look stunning in this colour combo though. I will snap one up if I win the Lotto lol

100%. I heard the same from someone at BMW. Apparently the guy with the spec sheet, ticked the manual option instead of the auto... and now we have a whole batch of manual 4 series

Seems like he ticked the same colour and interior boxes as well....

Beautiful colour combo but surely will be difficult to maintain interior in pristine condition.

The color combo on these are absolutely beautiful.
STUNNING cars, manual is not a bad option for a cruiser.

Yes bud.

A 420d auto (no manual option) on the BMW configurator comes up to just over 900k with the same extras....starting price R770k for an Msport.

I heard dealers got it for 450k. So after mark up this is what they selling for.

What would the same MY/mileage autos go for? I don't have a feel for the pricing but this sounds like a really good deal, would buy in a heartbeat if I was in the market. Nothing wrong with a manual.

I'm surprised BMW is selling these cheap and didnt turn them into another fake limited "daily driving purist" edition LMFAO

Maybe this guy could accidentally tick the G21 box instead of the G20 and get us some 3 series wagons here. In manual M-sport of course :fencelook:

Just missing Pro Nav and Front & Rear PDC with rear camera.

I would have been keen for a daily otherwise.

I think this just proves that they can bring in whatever they want. I contacted BMW SA about the G21 when it launched and they just said no basically. No we won't bring them in. Or order one for an individual. I suppose if you had enough bucks and knew someone at BMW SA they would organise a G21 for you.

How amazing would a G21 M340d be. Or even just a manual 320d wagon. We didn't get the F31 either. I get that sales are low compared to the sedan and crossovers, but why not do it on a per order basis. I understood when it was the E90 and E91 period because the wagons were imported but the sedans could be built locally.

I speak under correction but the G20 is imported? So how difficult would it be to load a wagon on the boat every now and again :fencelook:

Yes bud you right. I mean there isn't even an option for manual on the BMW site.

Love this colour
The 20i will probably be easier to live with as a daily, due to the longer gears.

I owned a manual 320D for a a year or so... and wont lie, the constant shifting between first and second on the Diesel does gets tiring after a while lol. Missed the luxury of being able to have a coffee in hand while driving.

They seems to be good value
