Not sure on what the "brand" is with this, I have looked into doing a replacement for my e60 and the brand that seems to be of choice or recommended is Dynavin - they have offices here in Centurion but the price is around 9k and it is a pure plug in replacement from what I have researched etc. Also with Dynavin it does not matter in my case if its the 6' or 8' OEM unit, theirs is a 8' replacement for both.

Thanks. I'll check it out. It looks like they do have the X1 units too!

I dealt with them when I replaced the radio on my wife's polo. It is normally also a straight plug and play set up. Units have decent quality, but I am not sure of the brand as it arrives at your place in an unmarked box and the instructions are all in Chinese, but it is quite easy to figure out all the functions on your own

I am assuming you are referring to Stopshop with your experience?

I bought from stopshop for my 2003 X5, Straight plug n play and still playing. Got the maps also off their site for the navigation. All and all no problem with the unit and have it for 3 years already. Hope this helps.

I think the greatest part of all (with the Dynavin unit) is that the iDrive controller is still functional, just read it now on the website.

Hi guys.. My wife has the X1 and I was toying with the idea of fitting this aftermarket system! Question? Does it affect motorplan?
