Shyte!

Sorry dude, was hoping to see the update with the side sills and only to find this is terrible.

How can people be so low in life to do this is beyond me...

That's bad. How did someone think they can just pull it off without damaging it.
Hope you somehow find out who it was.

Nice man, looking good! :D

Does your car not have automatic lights? I saw in one of the earlier pics that the light knob does not have the automatic symbol like mine?

Thanks bud. Correct no automatic lights. I'm not sure if it was a standard feature or mine just got missed somehow. Lol.

I'd have thought it be standard with all xenon lights, perhaps the base manual version is different to a base automatic version? lol I dunno
Not the end of the world though, however things like this boggle my mind.

Pay x amount for a brand new luxury car and it does not have automatic lights, I mean my 2012 Kia Picanto came with automatic lights by default. I doubt it's very costly to add a feature such as that. As far as I am concerned, why are BMW still using halogen lights even, I think Audi have switched over to just Xenon a while ago?
I have seen more newer cheapy cars coming out with xenons as default too.

Erm. 1. You need a whole new window which have the part where the sensor go, without the blue or whatever color tint. Otherwise it can't see the correct amount of light and/or rain. 2. Then it usually is as simple as changing the button face plate and some coding.

But #1 is not cheap.

I was talking about BMW adding the feature, surely the overall cost for them on such a thing wouldn't be very significant?

You could be onto something with base manual as my uncle has a base auto and he has auto lights.

I get you bud. Other manufacturers base spec cars come fully loaded. You right I hate seeing an F30 with halogens.

If my car didn't have the xenons and sunroof I wouldn't have purchased it.

Not much done since the last time.....anticipating clutch and DMF will need replacement by the end of the year so started shopping around. Managed to get Luk parts at a decent price so got them on hand for when needed.

Also starting to think I should just fit the coilovers already as the current shocks are showing no signs of wear and doubt they will anytime soon.

Looking good.
Just need a side accent/crease line stripe in black and "M Performance" side sills.
How does the front slip/splitter cope with the steep driveways in KZN?

Thanks bud.

Trying not to put any M badges or stickers since it isn't a M Sport - the wheels already have an M badge each .       :fencelook:

I was thinking of side skirt extensions though.

The slpitters are not bad at all since the car is base model height. Once I fit the coilovers I will have issues

Some pics I snapped today....

Removed the laminx from the headlights not long ago due to discoloration. Liking the clear look for now but will most probably smoke it again at some point as it does provide good protection of the lenses and will accentuate the grille and splitters.

Car is still going beautifully at just over 130k kms now. Due for a service soon and want to do a full check up and identify any non service/preventative items that need to be attended too. Thinking boost pipe seals, suspension items and possibly vibration damper.

Looking smart bud!

Just change that gear knob to the M sport ZHP one (if it will work). Makes a nice little difference for the few hundred.

Finally received this gearknob I ordered from Ali Express...

Still not happy with how high it sits.

Would love to get the M Performance style at a later stage.

Lovely spec!

I think the height of the gearstick depends on the “shifter”

Check if this E60 short shifter fits on your gearbox. This can be done when doing the DMF
and clutch
By short I mean the length of throws becomes shorter and the knob also drops slightly.

Thanks bud. Will definitely check this out. I think you are right that the height depends on the actual shifter.

This is the ultimate for me (priced at 5k from BMW). Love the lit up display.

Or even the M Performance would do (3k at BMW)

But just can't justify spending that much on it.
