GTR is far from a supercar. Its a 4 seater sportscar with supercar performance.

Nurburgring times say otherwise. It is Nissans Supercar, just like the LFA is to Lexus/Toyota

That's just put it this way...

If you are super rich and you want a super car, will you go to a Nissan dealership and buy a GTR?:=):

x2.........

Interestingly thou. alot of GTR's are owned by ppl who already have Ferrari's/Lambos etc..... purely because its easier/cheaper to trash around a track than their high end supercars!

The fact that it is more useable does not make it any less of a supercar

To put things in perspective, a stock 09 GTR is quicker around the Green Hell than a 458 Italia, 911 GT2, 911 GT3 RS 997MkII, Koenigsegg CCR and CCX, Merc SLR, Lambo Murci LP640 amoingst others

Regardless of its times, its not a supercar, like I said sportscar with supercar performance. If you class the GTR as a supercar then why not the M5 or M6?? They in the same price bracket and push more power, they just cant perform as well.

Performance is one of the key factors when it comes to seperating a sportscar from a supercar

Supercar is a stupid term that basically means EXPENSIVE
is an Aston Martin DB9 a super car?
no , its expenisve and slow .
Super car should relate to performance , on that front the gtr qualifies

Nah that's cool if that's your definition of a supercar, going around the track really fast...

My definition of a supercar will be something exotic, something you don't see everyday. Owners only take it out on the weekends only, perhaps not very easy/friendly to drive (although now a days some new cars are very easy to drive). Limited edition/produce.

My thing with the Nissan is because is a Nissan. Yes is a engineering marble, great technology, fast car and can definitely go toe to toe with any supercar, but is too easy to drive, too comfortable and too common.

That's just my point of view:tease:

There's no one clear definition, but pretty much everyone agrees that stonking performance is the key characteristic of a supercar

A supercar in my opinion has always been an expensive, exotic looking sportscar with a very high top speed (300+) that has a couple of practicality compromises for the sake of performance and looks. Such as a Lamborghini, where getting in and out and carrying luggage has always been an issue, but you damn sure know it's a supercar when you see, hear and sit in it.

IMO the GT-R is a super sportscar, but is has a less than impressive interior, looks like a pumped up Nissan Z-car and has none of the status/prestige a supercar has. Fast = yes, technologically advanced =yes, great track car = yes, supercar = no.
