Howsit Chaps,

hope you guys are well,

So the time has come for us to get back into a BMW again  :tiptoe: :tiptoe:  and I may potentially be getting into the above mentioned car, full service history with BMW has 143 000kms at the moment

Car is specced very well, Msport, xenons, pdc, DCT, nav etc

Any advice on some preventative measures will be highly appreciated.  :praise: :praise:

regards

Welcome and nice to hear you getting a BMW.
I'm sure the the basic things lik regular oil changes, more often than BMW 20k km interval, oil filter housing gasket, charge pipe upgrade from plastic OEM To aluminum, tappet cover sometimes leaks, gearbox service with ZF, think they running specials again, there's some OEM pipes like coolant overflow and a few boost pipes that get brittle and crack so is worth replacing before this happens,

Otherwise enjoy the car !

Service the dct Gearbox and try to check if all bmw campaigns were done on the car and then it's all about routine and preventative maintenance

where would we be able to service the gearbox?

I did see that ZF are running specials but they say they don't do the dct gear box?

Thanks in advance,

Awe Sar! Welcome back. Beautiful car and choice.
As mentioned above, check outstanding campaigns and do a service on the box. For peace of mind i would also suggest a major service when you get it, so you know its done and what oil is in the car etc...

Sup J, thanks bru,  :ty:

I got the full history from bmw Midrand, all campaigns have been attended too,

Who would be the right person or company to do the service on the gearbox?

Major Service is planned for when we get the car,

No the DCT is a GM gearbox, so ZF cant/wont assist you . You can either give one of the dealers a try or tunetech is the only other place that has some knowledge on servicing these boxes.

Consider routine stuff like a coolant flush/changing out the diff fluids etc, these items are often not changed under motorplan as bmw considers them to be "lifelong" but what they mean is, the life of your motorplan, and not after that.....

I just spoke to Stan from SR Speedworx he said he can assist you with it and all the fluid changes required, his number is 0848821756.
