Hi guys.

I've found a BMW X1 that I'd like to buy. It's a 2012 with 120 000kms.

Would this be a good buy? What are common issues on these cars?

According to the seller, it needs a new coil pack, and that is the only issue.

Terrible motor. Don't buy it.

Look for a diesel instead.

Go for the 20d Sdrive or Xdrive , you wont be sorry.

Just search for the N20 motor on the forum or the net bud. Will find a complete list of issues.

There may be one or two fluke 20i engines that run well forever, but those are very, very rare. In general, the 20d engines are more likely to outlast the petrol motors and also less likely to give issues.

As suggested above, you can search the forum for issues on the petrol engine.
