Cousin took delivery of his new toy. 2012 750i. I took it out last night for a test drive :D at first I was skeptical at the titanic size of the car and thought acceleration and handling will be as of a boat. I never being so wrong in my life. Besides tons of settings and gadgets. Aftet tweaked to sports ++ mode. Exhaust opened up and gearing got aggressive. It handled like a small nimbe sports car in corners and before I know it, Was at 160km/h on N1 in a few nani seconds. The head up display is so pimp, got back to my 3 series and felt ike back in stone ages. One day, I will get there...

Im so glad you say this.

Most of the people naturally assume that a 7 series is a tank, and handles like a big frikken boat.

What people do not realize, and this is so sad, is that it is BMW's flagship for a reason.

That chassis is so frikken superior in its design and composite, that it will, outhandle any equiv 3 series, which probably the exception of the //M3.

I will outmaneuver, out-drive, and simply outclass any driver with an E65/F01 compared to his E90, on the road, on the track....

Combine that handling, with the fact that you will never have a living room as fancy as that car, and you will understand why its BMW's flagship...

Dammit I miss my 7 now..

Looks like a boat. Must drive like a boat! :rollsmile:

I'd love to experience the 750 or 760. How much power do they make? 400kW?

@Leonard, agreed.

Apparently it is same engine as the M5 (V8 Twin turbo) but detuned.

My size limit is 5 series. For family saloon I going towards a M5.

I agree, the 7 series handles like a beaut. My dad has an E65 745i that he drove like a 2 door sports car, the car was so eager to be driven.

Does this 750i have the N63 or the revised N63tu with 445bhp?

Erm, for the price you pay.... It should, or shall I say MUST, deliver in all areas, including handling!

I drove the latest 730D, it is an amazing vehicle, in the right mode it handles like a sports car or a flying lounge if you prefer. By far one of the best cars around. After driving the 7 I got back into my Range Rover and it felt like a double cab bakkie.

Leonard is right, it is the flagship for a reason.

I also went in the S320 CDI (didnt drive it), also very under-rated - I still prefer the 7. If anyone was shopping for a car in that bracket is very spoiled for choice.
