Morning all you Bimmer gurus!!!

Is software on this diesel a good idea?
Yes power will be more but in terms of fuel saving mostly.

I'm am not debating the "loss of motor plan" issue.

Just what are the pros and cons?

Thanx

If MP is no issue then do it combined with a downpipe mod if not Freeflow exhaust!

Thanx mate.
Its not a question of "do it, don't do it"

I would like to know by how much if any the fuel consumption was improved/not improved.
And then by whom should i do this?

I am not gonna do this while under motor plan, just getting a vision of where to next.

As last night, the wife and i discussed this very thing, where to do we upgrade after this fantastic car.:inlove:

Look ... want more out then you need to put more in... as simple as that!

BUT ... if you are not a leadfoot then your fuel consumption will definitively drop below your current fuel consumption because if you drive like you drove before, your power comes in much earlier than before and you will be tapping off; hence save fuel!

However if you make use of the additional power, you will also use more fuel.
No science needed for that

The biggest "con" or disadvantage is that you'll be grinning like a school girl each time you floor the accelerator and trust me, you will be doing it often just to enjoy the additional boost

Thanx Rolf, this was what i was looking for.
Much appreciated.

Yea, I fully understand the ratio between the two F's.(foot & fuel)

My consumption did go down when Xcede was loaded on my car. IIRC, i use to average 10l/100km, im now sitting on 9l/100km, this is town driving.

I did one long distance trip and the different between pre-Xcede to post-Xcede was the same, so roughly about 1l/100km. But, this is with a heavy foot. With a lighter foot, im sure i can bring it down further.
