Yes I'm a newbie to the forum & to the beemer world...I have always been a vw boy, but that time has come when you have to become a bmw man...

That being said I would like some advise...
I have my eye on a 2011 330d msport auto, mileage is 116k kms, price is R200k...

She has s/r, 18inch stock wheels...no sat nav or paddle shift.

How is this deal? Is there anything I should know about these cars before taking this step?

I humbly look forward to your thoughts.

Howsit!

This topic has been discussed many times, in short:

Make sure it has FSH and review motorplan history.
Service gearbox @ 100 000km
Damper pulley will fail at one point (+-150 000km).
save for Rear tires

Rock solid, IF looked after properly.

Price seems tad high for me.

330d's are amazing cars.

Maintenance-wise nothing really to worry about apart from what Tman mentioned. The 330d is know to be bulletproof if looked after properly as some forum members (Rayzor for one) have proved.

The E90 is prone to minor issues such as faulty door actuators etc, but nothing major to worry about.

Tyres will be a bit of an issue if driven hard from time to time, but then again you know very well that you're not buying a normal city car with no power.

You're bound to enjoy the vehicle bucket loads :coolShake:

If the car checks out and is in good condition the price is pretty much spot on.

In Feb the book value on that vehicle was:
Trade: R190k
Retail: R230k.

You'd be hard pressed to find a clean example with the same spec and mileage for much (if any) less. Especially from a dealership.

Best car I've ever owned. Unrivaled balance of power and economy.

Thanks guys for the heads up.
The reason I was asking was the only threads I could find was from a few years back.
So I figured that now with the cars being abit older, if there's any other findings.
Well I am still awaiting on this deal so let see what comes of it....fingers crossed

Good luck man.

Don't disappear after receiving your car - come brag on the forum with your new wheels:coolShake:

Yeah you won't regret it. Loving my 330D since day one, and not a single issue. Had her for about a year now.

The power never gets old, especially for the fuel economy you get. Rear tires are just expensive o_O

Price seems good, as long as it's in good condition. You struggle to find clean ones these day. My friend is looking for one now also, and all the good ones seems to be around that price point.

Good luck and post pics!
