2010 E92 purchase question

Good day everyone.

I am looking to buy a 2010 320i E92 and I noticed in the service history that work was done in 2014 for ‘Cylinder head gasket leaking’ - this was fixed in MP, however I just want to know if that is something I should be concerned about? Even though this has happened 4 years ago - is this typically something I should then always look out for in the future? I could not see any visible signs of oil leaks.

The car really looks good and was serviced at BMW for all its services except for the latest one. It has 110 000km and no accident damage.

I will appreciate any advice.

Was most likely the VCG.

Post the MP history here. My bet is it is defect number 1112014800.

Thanks for the reply.

That is really the only thing that stands out from the service history, the rest is all things like oil change, standard scope cbs, brake discs and pads, brake fluid flush, aircon filter etc.

Probably was a defect, I see some relevant results on a simple google search.

they leak on the n46 engine, nothing to be worried about.

Oops i mistook this for a Valve cover leak, head gasket might be something else.

A side comment...

I was in the market for a 320i Coupe back in 2010, but felt it was too underpowered up at JHB altitudes (it has no turbo). I also considered a C180 Coupe (1.6T, I think) manual and it felt a bit stronger, but was priced too high for me. I settled for an A4 1.8T manual instead.

If you are based on the Highveld, I would recommend test driving the 320i on the open road first.

If you did so already and are happy, then no worries.
