Howsit guys

Hope all is well,

So my warranty recently came to an end after 2 years and with no issues. Now with the warranty ended, I picked up a water leak with my 320d, so the coolant in the tank drops every 3 days.

I have tried inspecting the engine bay for coolant residue or to find the source of the leak but have had no luck since.

I have been told that the most common failure point is the water housing on the left side of the engine that could be the fault but also told its a labor intensive job as the intake would need to come out.

So before I go ahead and start replacing parts I thought I would ask here to seek advice on what to look for or if anyone had a similar issue.

All advice and knowledge welcome

I'm currently based in kzn and would like to have this issue sorted asap.

Also I would like to diy the replacement of parts so just seeking advice to repair or locate the issue

Thanks gents

Go to a radiator place first, here in Pretoria Gauteng it's Silverton radiators, and have them do a pressure test. They will find and point out the leak easily. From there you can decide on a route to fix the problem.

Good luck

There is a Silverton branch in Durban. You can also contact Vee at Old Dutch Racing or Claude at German Spec for advice as well.

Thanks guys for the assistance, managed to locate the leak and it's the dreaded flange on the side of the head.

Purchased new part from super tech Edwin swales Durban and will take the job on Saturday to replace and bleed the system.

Appreciate the assistance gents

Take it slowly and gently with the bolts as they may have rusted or seized with the water leaking on them and heat from the engine. Mine snapped off and required machining to get out.
Maybe try a little Q20 or WD40 if they seem a bit tight.

Thanks for the heads up will do just that, I have heard that I won't have to remove the intake completely to get the one bolt off from the housing which u hope works.

If not will remove the intake and do the job that way.. Any leads to get a swirl flap kit for the car?

While the intake is out might as well do the delete.

Once again appreciate all the help and advice...

Going to be a busy weekend also doing my brake upgrade which will be replacing the front brake setup to a 335i setup. Will share pics once all is done

Howsit gents

So back to revive this thread again,

It's 3 months later after replacing the water pipe on the side of rhe head and it seems I have a leak again.

I am suspecting the coolant bottle this time around.

Any ideas on where to source a oem bottle new or second hand
