I hav a 2007 335 6 speed auto and it also blips on downshifts....very cool sound.

It also blips when in auto mode when you downshift with the acc pedal.....i think it called rev matching shifts

The convertible does it on upshifts. My 335i also does it it on downshift

Yeah thats the dct gearbox that does it on upshifts as well.
