well the new 320i has 135Kw and 270Nm...that's like the C200 kompressor.
I currently drive a E90 320i manual and I dont think its that bad...wont buy the auto though.

You mean the F30 320i with the turbo? Yes, that will be an awesome car.

(I will restrain myself from commenting on the E90)

Okay...so, I don't mean to bring up an old debate, starting a new thread would have been a bit unnecessary. I had the "Pleasure" of going for a drive in an E93 320i Auto yesterday, biggest anti-climax I've ever experienced. This car had all the bells & whistles, I-Drive, Bluetooth...you name it.

That 4 cylinder in a heavy convertible.. :nonono:

I also feel the same. my first bmw was an E46 320i, awesome sound and reasonable power. now am driving an E46 320d and I occasionally give a colleague a lift to work when his E90 320i is in for service. the dude always asks me if I wanna sell my baby. that car is grossly underpowered. the only consolation u get is from the specs on the car, otherwise its better to stick to the straight sixes. hoping to get a E90 straight six one day.

I'm guilty of owning an E90 320i ....:thumbdo:
It was a 2008 Sportspack Auto ... nicely specced

But for the life of me it was dog slow and the fuel consumption was horrendous ...

We have a 320i pre lci m pack - Manual tho, and after that first 1000 kms we drove it Sh!tLess...
and its just hit 100.000kms and its got great kraag for a 320i ive dropped quite a few small cars with it. . .
consumption is amazing aswell - 10.2?! took it on the private race track to 230 with ease took alil longer but didnt struggle.
as for the auto option yep i would agree power and consumption...absolute waste of time/effort/money!! maybe suited for a less spirited Female driver?

If you feel you couldve added more to this discussion, read the 17 pages of this thread first. I am sure its been covered.

You want safety and build quality for your wife and family, you buy a 320i rather then the faster cheaper options.

You want speed and performance get yourself an M3.
