2006 BMW 330d not starting

My 2006 330d Auto just swings and does not start... Car was driving fine. I put foot down for 5 or 6 seconds, then left throttle and then all of a sudden the car started revving high by itself and started to accelerate. I pushed it to N but it still kept revving so I shut it down. Stopped and then didn't want to start again... What could be the problem?

Does the vehicle crank? your best bet is to get someone to scan the car for codes asap.

I reckon you might have a stuck injector or one that leaks badly that causes the "runaway". Get codes read and go from there. A runaway could cause the car to basically set itself alight if it gets out of hand.

The car itself brought up no new codes... would a diagnostic tool then read anything? When we spray quickstart it eventually starts but only idles as long as we spray it and it idles very roughly

A diagnostic tool would definitely show error codes that the car itself won't.

Sounds like a hole in the piston to me... this caused the runaway and the lack of compression now that it doesn't start.

A decent mech should have a compression tester to rule this out...
