2005 Titan Silver M Sport Touring Build.

As some of you are aware I purchased another 2005 325i M Sport Touring that I intend on restoring/upgrading. I purchased it from an elderly gentleman who bought it in 2013 from Chetan who is a forum member. I remember working on this car back in 2013 before it was sold, I told Chetan to not sell but he did and he regretted doing so. I contacted him after buying the car and he begged for first refusal if I choose to sell, no problem.:=):

This touring looks so hot with the silver color and the rims compliment it.
These 8.5Jx17 style 32s will be making way for staggered 18" BBS 2 piece style 108s next week.

Auto yes, gives me the option between auto or manual when it comes time to do the 330d 150kw conversion. Keeping my options open, the auto box is great for a runabout and rather decent when mated to a M3 SMG steering wheel. Also, far more auto 330d models available with fewer miles than their 6spd cousins.

Nice one, at least you got the space for all these Tourings. You're right with the 330d option, loving blasting mine round, the flow of torque is very addictive. Hope you find a good one soon.

Thanks for the compliments guys. A couple more 330d models came up for sale this week but yet again 250 000km+. I'm beginning to think I will never find a low mileage 6spd. Must be patient!!! The right one will come along at the right time and then it's game on! After the swap is complete and all bugs ironed out then it will be time to play around with the m57. Thinking 535d turbos and injectors, downpipes, custom intercooler and finish off with some RK tuning as he has some crazy diesels coming out his workshop these days.

The power ambitions the reason for specifically wanted a 330d manual Gizmo? I guess std auto gearboxes have their limitations with big power......

I'm certainly dialled in for this build :bravo:

Standard auto box in the E46 330d has a torque limit of 390nm. Stock the engine makes more than that so that's where the problem comes in with the auto

I was just about to write a very similar post to this regarding the auto option.

For the love of all that is good in this world please do not go auto with a 330d. The 6spd manual is the way forward! You did an auto to manual conversion for me for this very reason and you hated Auto back then. I think you should stick to that auto hatred for this build.

Also the manual 6spd on the 330d is so much more responsive and fun to drive than the auto. especially the e46 auto boxes.
