Regarding the module, when you replaced the abs control unit it had to be coded to the car, the reason that BMW could not help you was that they communicate to the most bus and then update the whole car but since you replaced the abs module that communication is broken. You will need to use winkp (can't remember the complete name) and code just the module to your vin etc. That will only be able to be done via a "coder". There is a few on this forum so maybe just ask who will be able to do the single coding for you to add the abs module to your vin. Don't try this at home as you might end up with a big paperweight car.
But ask for a coder and your problem will be solved, do you know what the code was prior to the removal of the controller? And is it possible to get the old one back, maybe you will need the old one to plug it in and then the new one to get the coding done but just guessing here as I have the software to do this but not planning on using it :hammerhead:
