I'm hoping someone can give me some advice

My car has done just under 100k km and is in need of a new clutch

I have contacted BMW and excluding fitment a clutch/flywheel kit with necessary screws, springs, pins etc is around R25K.

I'm hoping I can get an aftermarket version stage2 or similar without having to replace the flywheel and get better performance.

I believe the OEM clutch is made by SACHS. If your dual mass fly wheel is bust youll need a new one

Check with Goldwagen

Thanks, what determines it being bust? Shudder?

U can only check the Dual Mass once its out the car. If there is any play on the movement of the dual mass back and forward then it requires replacement

Thank you, can I get an aftermarket dual mass flywheel or replace it with something cheaper than the 20k version from BMW?

What about a stage 1 clutch? The standard clutch has always felt a bit lazy in my books.

It may feel lazy because of the CDV (clutch delay valve). You might want to look into a CDV delete

So a pretty good looking option for an upgraded clutch look slike the ZF Race Engineering SACHS Performance clutch. Imported it is around R10k excluding import duties which I can't see being too bad.

That and a CDV delete should work.
