Hi guys,
I need some advise please,
I was driving today and steering went hard, stopped, popped the bonnet and power steering belt was lying on the under carriage, it never snapped, but it cut longwards, like I had two belts,
Anyway this is a new belt I put a few months back from golswagen,
Any idea why it would do that,
I do have some power steering fluid leak, had it for some time, but bottle is always full,
I dont want to just put another belt, I need to figure why it did that,
Im considering sending the pump for a recon as I read they pron to go, miliage is almost on 200k,
The pipes are way to expensive to change any idea on that,
There is something I have been wanting to know, if u turn ur wheel full and lock it while car is on idle does your pumps stop, mine stops, that can't be normal as the damper pulley is still turning the belt and so it burns the belt on the power steering pump pulley,
Any feedback would be appreciated, oh and I drove it home, no harm there hopefully,
Oh and not a single warning light, is that right,
