2005 BMW 320i

Hi BMW Fans

My BMW 320i 2005 is constantly leaking oil. Overnight it leaves a puddle similar to a hadeda droppings but if I do not use the car the leak stops after a day or two. Approximately in a month I have to top up at least 2 litres of oil. Is there anybody out there that has a similar problem or does anyone know a good economical mechanic that can diagnose the problem. The area I live in is Edenvale, Jhb

Hi,

Check to make sure the timing chain tensioner hasn't come loose, could leak a lot. Could also be tappet cover or vacuum pump. Can you see anything from the top?
I know it is far but come visit me in Pretoria at Leo Haese BMW and I will pop it on a lift for you to check and hopefully be able to advise you.
