This is great news. Just be vigilant in checking that the faults are all fixed correctly. Insist on viewing the job sheet/invoice to verify what work is done.

Not to burst your bubble but owning a E65/E66 requires a lot of hands on attention. Plenty of electronics and with the smallest voltage drop all kinds of strange errors develop. My advise to you is to get INPA as soon as possible to do your own error clearing on a regular basis and to read every document you can get your hands on in order to understand this car's electronics, unless you have a lot, and I mean a lot of money to spend at BMW or other lucky person.

And the mileage ? Glad its sorted. And the key mileage ? Strange how the keys mileage would be effected from software.

The lesson here is to stay away from the pre-facelift E65s. They are just too unreliable. Facelift from 2005 onward is a much safer bet. Sorry that you had a bad experience. The 730d is a gem. There are plenty of good quality 7ers around if you are still in the market. If there are any you are interested in the general jo'burg area I would be happy to have a look and read the codes.
