2004 e46 Key Fob Battery

Morning all

My spare key's battery is dead.

how do i go about replacing the battery ? 

Has anyone successfully replaced they battery ? 
or do i have to have a new key sourced from BMW ?

Theres a few youtube vids on how to replace it, youl need a box cutter and some soldering skills

I have seen some videos relating to this.
I will give it a bash aswell

all right so i can confirm, that the battery can be replaced.
i replaced mine the weekend and it was successful.
(be prepared to spend quite some time opening the fob up)
