It was on Autotrader a little over a month ago. Took me a little over 2 weeks to finalize the deal with the seller. Apparently she did have a few people interested in the car and she mentioned one of them was a fanatic, but she gave me first preference and was very patient with me in finalising the deal:rollsmile::thumbs:

Jees lucky find. Over a period of year I saw nothing close to this one on public sites like Autotrader.

Thanks guys:thumbs: The best feature on this car is the engine note:praise: Can't get enough of it. I love rolling down my window as I enter an underground parking lot:rollsmile: I find the car pretty economical if you drive it sensibly. In fact at one point I had the cruise control set to 120 and I was averaging 6.4l/100km. I calculated my tank range to be around 900km to a tank from Bloem to EL. I filled up in Bloem and when I got to EL I still had a tank range of over 300km/a little more than a quarter tank after the 550km drive from Bloem. Also bear in mind that the +-300km stretch after bloem is full of crappy roads and road works with stop go's.
this goes to show how bmw can perfect their designs! that fuel consumption is phenomenal for a straight 6 3.0 irregardless of the speed you were driving at. maybe it wouldnt be a bad move to get a mint 330 from an E36 M3:fencelook: with the bonus of it being a newer car!

Thanks guys:joy: On my list of things to do:

-Need to get the beading around the back left door clipped in properly.
-Need to get water and condensation out of right indicator lens. I have a spare one to use temporarily, but it's not genuine.
-Windscreen is going to be replaced next week for stone chips.
-Planning to have the handbrake adjusted tomorrow.
-Passengers side window regulator/motor might need to be lubricated or replaced. Window goes down fine, but struggles to go up and sometimes doesn't one touch when closing.
-Oil service due in about 2000km
-Plastidip bottom steering wheel trim and center console. Will do this later as it isn't too bad.
-Full detail. Thanks to Pravin for the advise on products, will be buying some stuff from him soon:thumbs:

Any advise on some of the above?

This is a known sign of imminent window regulator failure.

Estimated cost to sort that out?

Well, I'm not sure of teh exact cost of teh mechanism (i think maybe R900 from a dealer, probably cheaper from goldwagen), but you can definitely DIY it. There are quite a few videos online showing you how to do it.

Ok so had the handbrake adjusted and beading clipped in today thanks to Jarred (aka germantechnik)

Goldwagon quoted me R900 for the regulator without motor. Gonna wait till it fails completely before replacing.

I tried to clean the wheels as best I could by removing them. Still a bit of brake dust left on the inside of the rim that I couldn't get off.

Oh and the red dots were from the prayers we had done which rubs off quite easily:rollsmile:
