2003 towbar

Hi, does anyone have a used tow bar lying around that they need to clear? Apparently not made anymore for e39...Don't need the fancy detachable, just an old fashioned rigid one. Anyone had luck with modifying one? Thanks

Would it have to be specific for the E39?

Factory fitted towbars are supplied by external companies, like mine which is made by Bosal. There are other brands too.

Is yours listed on your build sheet?
I doubt that it's factory fitted. Maybe dealer fitted, but not factory.

Yeah, the only factory fitted unit is the Westfalia one that's not longer made

I just recieved a Bosal catalogue this morning, and when I scrolled to the E39, there it was, still currently available, ....on the catalogue at least, cannot vouch for the physical availability though
