If the belt snapped, chances are good that your belt tensioner and idler pulleys are also shot. It is best to replace these together with the belt.

You should also state your location so that local members can respond.

I'm in Atlantis Cape Town. I hear you mate but I'm not following what you mean by 'shot'. I was hoping for a belt diagram, then i can conclude whether the belt is wrong size or tensioner is to look at.

I went to autozone for the second opinion, no mention of 6pk x 2080 instead 2075. This strikes my head to drink. You think bosch might differ? thanks for the input.

Hi,

I wouldn't be able to say really, I can do just the belt for R550 (no stock) excluding fitment.

Now that you have no belt on, spin the pulleys by hand and listen if you can hear them running rough, or maybe not turning at all. All the pulleys should turn except of course the crank pulley! By turning them by hand at least you should be able to determine if one or more pulleys or even the alternator or waterpump pulleys are maybe seized. If all of them turn nice and smooth then put the belt on that you have bought. It should fit as it is only 5mm shorter than what the specialists say it should be and the tensioner should be able to adjust to that. You know which one of the pulleys is the tensioner of course? The one that is fixed to a small "arm". It should have a hex or torx bolt so put your socket or spanner in there and turn it either anti clockwise or some times clockwise to get the belt on. Hope you come right!
