hi guys,

i just got a new battery form diesel electric today,
i should have posted this before i bought a battery, but needed one,

now,
the car starts and drives fine, and the battery seems fine,

i just wanted to double check that it is fine for the car as it is slightly bigger then my old battery and the numbers on the battery dont match the old one,
just to be on the safe side,
dont know if any damage can be caused having an incorrect battery,

the new one is the bosch unit, black

please let me know

Seriously - if it fits well, there is nothing to worry about

the diesel BMW's usually need a larger capacity battery than its similar sister petrol cars
diesel starter motors are a lot heavier on the capacity of the battery

you have been sold the equivalent diesel battery for an E39
shouldn't be any problem, except that you won't be utilizing the full cranking ability the battery has, since the petrol starter is a lot less draining on the battery
