Hi I was wondering if there is somewhere in South Africa where I could get the air suspension on my '02 X5 3.0d changed to standard coil spring suspension as I keep having problems with the air suspension.

What problems are you having?
I imported and replaced my bags myself, as the price the agents wanted for the bags alone was ridiculous.

Yeah dude stay away from the oem bags. Air Spring Supply company in Durban supplied me with Continental bags that never gave me an issue. Can do it at home, 1 hour elapsed time to install and the thing that took the most time was getting that damn circlip on at the bottom.

All you need is a jack, long nose pliers and time.

Friend of mine with 2005 E53 X5 diesel just mentioned that his car is showing air bag problems. He is constantly hearing the compressor pumping and the car is still sagging at the rear. Where can we buy non OEM airbags (Contis should be fine) and how much are they? Will fit them for my friend as soon as we can get them. Thanks for reading this.

I got mine on eBay. This was for an e39. Took about 2 weeks to arrive from China. X5 was more common, so there are more sellers. Even seen some local guys on Gumtree selling x5 bags. Will see if I can find the link of the seller I bought mine from.
